Worship

Pentecostal Worship is special as we invite the presence of the Holy Spirit to move in our midst for lives to be touched, moved, and transformed during our time of worship.

Our music department leads worship each Sunday morning through our Fresh Anointing Singers, praise team and band.

Our media team works hard to enrich our worship experiences through visual enhancements.

Our desire for each worship service:

  • To allow God time to work among His people
  • To allow God’s people time to worship God
  • To allow God’s Word to be preached and taught in its fullness
  • To offer worship opportunities for all ages – kids, youth, and adults

ECOG Worship Ministries include:

  • Praise and Worship Band
  • Singers (see below for practice times)
  • Praise Teams
  • Seasonal Drama

Rehearsal Schedule:

2nd & 4th Thursday nights at 6:45 p.m.
Anyone interested in joining the singers or band, see Stephanie Knight for more information.

Why do we worship the way we do?

Why do we lift our hands?

  • Psalms 134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD. 1 Timothy 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

Why do we clap our hands?

  • Psalms 47:1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

Why do we stand when we sing?

  • Psalms 135:1 Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD; Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD! 2 You who stand in the house of the LORD, In the courts of the house of our God, 3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.

Why do people speak in tongues during worship?

I Corinthians 14:14, 15, 39 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
